Electrical Apprenticeships and Safety in Ontario
Not all contractors provide proper safety training and supervision for electrical apprentices. Former electrical apprentice Mark Graham talks about the lack of supervision that led to his horrific accident. The resulting explosion and fire caused 2nd and 3rd degree burns to over 60% of his body, including melting his hardhat to his head. He was unconscious in the hospital for 6 weeks, and woke up unable to see and in agonizing pain.
Adam Goulet was assigned to do electrical work even though he was hired on as a general labourer.
